Am 17. April brach ein Teil einer Kulisse im Moskauer Musiktheater Stanislavsky zusammen und riss ca. 20 Chorsänger eineinhalb Meter in die Tiefe. Weil er in sozialen Medien darüber berichtet und die Leitung des Theaters kritisiert hatte, wurde der Sänger Svyatoslav Manuilov nun gefeuert. Er erklärte gegenüber Open Media, er sei entlassen worden, « weil er gesetzlich geschützte Geheimnisse preisgegeben habe », nachdem er dem Sender von dem Unfall bei der Probe berichtet habe.

The Premio Internazionale Antonio Mormone announced its first edition. With Evgeny Kissin as honorary chairman it will take place in Milan. A series of concerts between October 2019 and July 2020 involves music venues from city centre to the suburbs. The final will take place at the Teatro alla Scala. Philipp Mann

The Texarkana Symphony Orchestra in Texarkana, a twin-city divided between Texas and Arkansas, named American conductor Philip Mann as Music Director. Mann has signed a contract for three years, running from June 2019. He is currently serving as music director for the Arkansas Symphony, a position he will end in June, and he holds the position of director of orchestral studies at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, where he lives with his wife.

Anthony Parnther

Californian San Bernardino Symphony Orchestra has announced Anthony Parnther as its Music Director beginning with the 2019-20 season. Parnther, the leading candidate out of 10 finalists from throughout the United States and Venezuela, will become the 16th music director since the organization’s founding in 1929. Parnther is also Music Director of the Southeast Symphony in Los Angeles, sicne 2010. He is also a prolific conductor of film, television, and video game scores.
