The Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (OPRL) appointed 27-year-old conductor Victor Jacob as Assistant Conductor for one season. Jacob was chosen by competition. The OPRL received 86 applications and a selection of 7 candidates had to conduct the Orchestra for this first edition.

Victor Jacob, a French citizen, was a semi-finalist in the Besançon and Hong Kong International Competitions and holds a Master’s degree in conducting from the Royal Academy of Music in London; he is currently pursuing a second Master’s degree with Alain Altinoglu at the CNSM in Paris. He also perfected his skills with Bernard Haitink, Marin Alsop and David Zinman. In 2018-2019, he became Music Director of the Orchestre des Jeunes de l’Orchestre National de Lyon; in 2019-2020, he will be Fabien Gabel’s assistant at the Orchestre Français des Jeunes.
