The Kansas City Symphony (KCS) has announced the appointment of conductor-composer Matthias Pintscher as its fifth Music Director. He takes over from Michael Stern at the beginning of the 2024-25 season for an initial term of five years. Pintscher is currently in his tenth and final season as Music Director of Ensemble Intercontemporain.

Based in Arnhem and Enschede, the PHION orchestra has announced that Alexei Ogrintchouk will be the new chief conductor as of season 2023-2024. The conductor and oboist Ogrintchouk has signed a contract for 3 seasons, during which he will conduct 4 productions per season. Der 1988 in Newcastle geborene Musiker ist Resident Conductor and Artistic Advisor, London Mozart Players.
