John Storgards
The BBC has announced that Finnish conductor and violinist John Storgards, 59, has been named Chief Conductor of the BBC Philharmonic. Storgards was the orchestra’s Chief Guest Conductor since 2017. He is the Principal Guest Conductor of Canada’s National Arts Centre Orchestra Ottawa and the Artistic Director of the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, a title he has held for over 25 years.

Der Pianist und Komponist Carl Reinecke (1824-1910) war zuerst Hofpianist in Kopenhagen, dann Kapellmeister der Gewandhauskonzerte in Leipzig und (bis 1902) Lehrer am dortigen Konservatorium, wo u.a. Edward Grieg einer seiner Schüler war.
