Conductor Cristian Macelaru and the Orchestre National de France, together with the Radio France Choir, are among the 2025 winners in the Symphonic Music category for their DG recording of orchestral works by Georges Enescu, including the Romanian Rhapsodies and Symphonies Nos. 1-3. Der 49-jährige israelische Dirigent Ilan Volkov beendete kürzlich einen Auftritt bei den BBC Proms mit einer Erklärung gegen die von Israel begangenen Gräueltaten in Gaza, in der er sagte: « Wir können das nicht länger hinnehmen. » Volkov kündigte daraufhin an, dass er in absehbarer Zeit nicht mehr in seinem Heimatland arbeiten werde. Augustin Dumay

Warner Classics has announced a new series of recordings by the 76-year old French violinist Augustin Dumay in the coming years. The first releases will involve Volume 1 of the complete Bach Sonatas and Partitas in April next year, followed by Mr Dumay’s first ever recording of the Brahms concerto with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Eliahu Inbal. More will follow (including the volume 2 of the Bach).
