The International Isang Yun Competition announced the winners of this year’s cello competition. First Prize was awarded to 25-year-old Korean cellist Youbien Lee, Second Prize to Jeri lee (Korea, 2009) and third Prize to Andrew Ilhoon Byun (Canada 1998). During last night’s concert by the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra at the Philharmonie de Paris, protesters disrupted the evening, interrupting the concert several times and throwing leaflets. They managed to bring flares into the hall despite heightened security checks. The Philharmonie de Paris has announced that it will be filing a complaint.
