After Italian pianist & conductor Epifanio Comis in 2013, Vladimir Ashkenazy has been honoured with the 2014 Award for his extraordinarily successful efforts, notably the recording of the complete piano works by Rachmaninov, including his unpublished work in ‘A flat major’ which he copied down from a sketch in the Library of Congress, Washington DC.
