Pietari Inkinen dirigiert auf diesem Album eine klangschöne, transparente und detailreiche Neunte Dvorak. Im ersten Satz fallen wunderschöne Farben in den Holzbläsern auf.

Der zweite Satz ist lyrisch und pastoral, fein nuanciert und von bestechender Ausgewogenheit. Streckenweise ist die Musik zutiefst ergreifend.

Ungestüm folgt dann das Scherzo, wiederum sehr detailreich und wunderbar homogen im Klang.

Bei guter Lautstarke, die den Sendesaal des SR auch zuhause akustisch gut wiedergibt und die entsprechenden Resonanzen mitbringt, wird das Finale zum berauschenden Klangbad. Jedes Instrument und jede Instrumentengruppe der exzellenten Deutschen Radio Philharmonie kann man verorten, und man fühlt sich als Hörer unmittelbar im reichen und spannenden Klanggeschehen eingebunden. Das sei auch ausdrücklich als Lob an die Aufnahmeleitung (Sébastien Chonion und Ralf Schnellbach) aufzufassen.

Prächtig gelungen ist ebenfalls die Bläserserenade (die auch ein Cello und einen Kontrabass verwendet), deren farbenfrohe Melodik in einem sehr vollen und fast symphonischen Klang brillant aufblüht.

On this album, Pietari Inkinen’s beautiful, transparent, and detailed interpretation of Dvořák’s Ninth Symphony is on display. In the first movement, the woodwinds show stunning colors.

The second movement is lyrical and pastoral with fine nuances and impressive balance. At times, the music is deeply moving.

The impetuous scherzo that follows is also very detailed and wonderfully homogeneous in sound.

When played at an appropriate volume that reproduces well the acoustics of the SR broadcasting hall, the finale becomes an intoxicating sound bath. Every instrument and group of instruments of the excellent German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra can be located, and listeners immediately feel immersed in the rich, exciting soundscape. This is also explicit praise for the recording directors, Sébastien Chonion and Ralf Schnellbach.

The wind serenade, which also uses a cello and a double bass, is magnificently successful too. Its colorful melodies blossom brilliantly in a full, almost symphonic sound.
