Andrej Hoteev spielt in diesen Aufnahmen die ungekürzten Fassungen aller Klavierwerke mit Orchester von Piotr Tchaikovsky. Die vormals bei Koch Schwann erschienenen Einspielungen sind sehr ausdrucksvoll und in den langsamen Passagen sehr kantabel, ohne den virtuosen und spektakulären Gestus, der manchen Interpretationen anhaftet, lyrisch, aber auch ohne die elektrisierende Spannung, die den Zuhörer in den besten Aufnahmen dieser Werke  begeistern kann. Im Gegenteil: hier klingt manches schwer und pathetisch.

Das Klangbild des Orchesters ist entsprechend dunkel und kompakt und in ihm fügt sich das kraftvolle, heroische Spiel des Solisten passend ein.

Diese Kollektion gründet also auf einer guten Ausgangsidee, aber das Resultat ist nicht begeisternd.

Andrej Hoteev plays in these recordings the unabridged versions of all piano works with orchestra by Piotr Tchaikovsky. Previously released by Koch Schwann, the recordings are very expressive and cantabile in the slow passages, without the virtuosic and spectacular gesture inherent in some interpretations, lyrical, but also without the electrifying tension that can thrill the listener in the best recordings of these works. On the contrary, some of the music here sounds heavy and pathetic.
The sound of the orchestra is correspondingly dark and compact, and in it the powerful heroic playing of the soloist fits in appropriately.
So this collection is based on a good initial idea, but the result is not inspiring.
