The National Symphony Orchestra in Washington will now open all its performances with the national anthem – another Trump imprint on the Kennedy Center, the orchestra’s home.

Like many other American orchestras and opera companies, the symphony only used to play ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ at the start of its seasons or on special occasions.

Now, the anthem has been reduced to the status of a mere jingle.
