Thomas Hengelbrock

Thomas Hengelbrock, 65, has been appointed Music Director of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, starting with the 2024/2025 season. The German conductor and violinist will succeed Lars Vogt, who led the OCP from the summer of 2020 until his death in September 2022.

Founder and director of the Balthasar Neumann Choir and Ensemble in 1991 and 1995, Thomas Hengelbrock was principal conductor of the NDR Symphony Orchestra in Hamburg from 2011 to 2018, winner of the 2016 Karajan Prize, conductor of the Orchestre de Paris from 2015 to 2017, and has led numerous international ensembles in many venues, including the Opéra de Paris and the TCE in Aix.
