Danish conductor Thomas Dausgaard has been appointed Principal Guest Conductor of the Madreid based RTVE Symphony Orchestra and Choir from the 2024-2025 season.

Thomas Dausgaard, born in Copenhagen in 1963, has recently concluded his tenure as Chief Conductor of the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, where he served from 2016 to 2022. His career also includes positions as Laureate Conductor of the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and Honorary Conductor of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra della Toscana. He has previously held roles as Principal Guest Conductor and Music Director of the Seattle Symphony.

The RTVE Orchestra’s Music Director is Carlos Kalmar.
