Young Finnish Conductor Tarmo Peltokoski (b. 2000) has been appointed as the first Principal Guest Conductor in the history of the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, whose Music Diretor is Paavo Järvi. Peltokoski got a five-year contract. He conducted the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen for the first time in his German debut in June 2021 and soon received repeat invitations.
Last season, despite pandemic restrictions, Peltokoski was able to make his debut with several Finnish orchestras, including the Helsinki City Orchestra, the Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tapiola Sinfonietta and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.
This season, debuts have continued with orchestras such as the Komische Oper in Berlin, the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Latvian National Orchestra and the Basel Chamber Orchestra.
Peltokoski started conducting at the Sibelius Academy in autumn 2018. At the same time, he continued his piano studies. He also studied at the Jorma Panula Academy.
