A suspected cyberattack caused the Isreal Philharmonic’s website to shut down, as well as the website for Medici.TV, IPO’s partner for a Virtual Gala, according to a press release from the orchestra. The suspected attack prevented the more than 13,000 participants from watching the gala, but the IPO was able to upload the entire gala to YouTube for people to watch.
The gala included performances from musicians such as Zubin Mehta, Pinchas Zukerman & Amanda Forsyth, Itzhak Perlman, Khatia Buniatishvili, Yefim Bronfman, Andras Schiff, Gil Shaham, Gianandrea Noseda, Chen Reiss, Martin Fröst and Evgeny Kissin. It was hosted by British actress Helen Mirren.
