Spanish conductor and composer Luis Izquierdo died at the age of 91. He made his debut as a pianist at the age of fifteen. He studied conducting in Vienna with Hans Swarowsky and in Salzburg with Gerhard Wimberger, graduating officially as Kapellmeister at the Mozarteum. He also has contacts in specialized courses with masters such as Dorati, Karajan, Leinsdorf, Szell, Scherchen, Paumgartner and Fasano. He was in leading positions with the Choral Association of Seville and the Seville Philharmonic Orchestra (1976-1990). Later he moved to the Madrid Conservatory where he combined his professorship with his work as a conductor.
