Die 1981 geborene und heute in Wien lebende georgische Pianistin Ketevan Sepashvili beginnt ihr Programm mit dem schönen und melodischen, mal quicklebendigen, mal verträumten Zyklus Kinderstücke für Erwachsene des georgischen Komponisten Nodar Gabunia (1933-2000).
Im Zyklus der 24 Préludes von Frédéric Chopin wählt Sepashvili einen bildhaften und ausdrucksvollen Ansatz. Die langsamen Préludes haben eine intime Atmosphäre, bezaubern durch ihre kontrollierte Anmut und eine breite Palette der Farben, die schnellen durch eine expressive Virtuosität und eine angenehme Leuchtkraft des Timbres.
Aber es ist letztlich ihre Kunst des Anschlags, die gewiss auch ihren Anteil an der bewegenden Wirkung des Zyklus hat.
Born in 1981 and now living in Vienna, Georgian pianist Ketevan Sepashvili begins her program with the beautiful and melodic, sometimes lively, sometimes dreamy cycle Children’s Pieces for Adults by Georgian composer Nodar Gabunia (1933-2000).
In the cycle of Frédéric Chopin’s 24 Préludes, Sepashvili chooses a pictorial and expressive approach. The slow Préludes have an intimate atmosphere, charming with their controlled grace and wide palette of colors, the fast ones with an expressive virtuosity and a pleasant luminosity of timbre.
But it is ultimately her art of touch that certainly has its share in the cycle’s moving effect.
