Japanese conductor will not attend his planned International Music Academy at Victoria Hall in Geneva, which was due to take place at the end of June. Together with his students he was supposed to prepare Schönberg’s ‘Verklärte Nacht’ and Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. The 77 old conductor announced that he was afraid the long journey from Japan to Europe would too much weaken his vital forces.
