The San Antonio Symphony musicians are on strike because the management wants to downsize the orchestra from 72 full-time positions to 42 and cut the base minimum salary for musicians from $35,700 to $24,000. The strike has gone on since 27 September and has resulted in numerous cancelled concerts. The management has not many any comment or new proposal since that date.
