Combining works by Fauré and Schumann is a good idea, as the young Fauré was an ardent admirer of Robert Schumann. Moreover, the solo cellist of the Berlin Philharmonic, Martin Löhr, and the harpist of the same orchestra, Marie-Pierre Langlamet, share with us their love for these compositions, all of which are the reflection of two tender and poetic temperaments. At the same time, the two musicians play very tastefully and do not overdo it in any way with their expression. They play the whole program with charm and poetry. If the interpretations are of an undeniably high level, the same is true of the recording technique, which is very well balanced and emphasizes the intimate character of the interpretations.
