Riccardo Chailly is now musical director of La Scala, where he was principal conductor since 2015. The formalization of his contract, which began on January 1, 2017, and will last until 2022, was completed yesterday, Superintendent Alexander Pereira said. The contract focusses the Italian repertoire and some new audio and video productions for Decca.
