Following the resignation of Slavomir Jakubek, the Slovak National Theater in Bratislava has a new Music Director, the Slovak conductor Rastislav Stur, 48, is the successor.
Slavomir Jakubek resigned after an audit commissioned by the Minister of Culture. The audit showed that the management of the opera house was responsible for a large part of the theatre’s financial losses.
The theatre ended 2017 with a deficit of €692,000.
