The Metropolitan Opera has announced a cast change for its production of Tosca during the 2022-23 season. Ukrainian soprano Liudmyla Monastyrska will replace Hibla Gerzmava in the title role.
Gerzmava is known for having openly supported Putin, especially in 2014 when she signed a letter supporting the Annexation of Crimea. She has also performed in government events.
