Businessman Gene Kaufman who made an offer six months ago to buy the bankrupt New York City Opera has filed an objection to delays in consideration of his bid and called for the services of an independent trustee. He now severely criticizes the opera’s board which has asked for a third three-month extension of the so-called exclusivity period given for determining the company’s future. A hearing is scheduled for July 16.
