Philippe Entremont

For three days, Swiss start-up Cybel’Art has recorded pianist Philippe Entremont in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, to create a hologram immortalizing the 85-year-old French musician. Entremont is the first living artist to participate in the creation of his hologram.

Surrounded by cameras and microphones, he recorded music by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart and Debussy. This recording will be used to create the hologram which is to be premiered in 2020, allowing Entremont to attend his own concert.

The hologram technique was, until now, only used to immortalize deceased artists, like Maria Callas.
