The British recorder player Philip Pickett (64), founder of The New London Consort received an 11 year prison sentence for the rape and sexual assault of several female pupils at the Guildhall School of Music. He was found guilty of two rapes and two indecent assaults on his victims between 1979 and 1983. Pickett carried out the assaults in sound-proof practice rooms.
