American composer Peter Boyer, 50, has been commissioned by the United States Marine Band to compose a special fanfare to be performed at the Inauguration of Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United States, at the U.S. Capitol on 20 January.

Boyer’s new work, Fanfare for Tomorrow, will be performed as part of the one-hour Prelude music of the Inauguration, conducted by the Marine Band’s Director, Colonel Jason K. Fettig.

Peter Boyer is known primarily for his orchestral works, which have received over 500 performances, by nearly 200 orchestras, among them the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, Philadelphia Orchestra and Cleveland Orchestra. Conductor Miguel Harth-Bedoya appointed Boyer as the Composer-in-Residence for the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra for the 2010–11 season.
