Perry So

The Hong Kong-born conductor Perry So has been appointed as chief conductor and artistic director of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra (OSG). The contract will take effect on September 1 and will be in effect for three seasons.

Perry So was born in Hong Kong in 1982, where he received early musical training in Piano, Organ, Violin, Viola and Composition. He later received a B.A. in Comparative Literature from Yale University. In 2008 he studied conducting at the Peabody Institute in Baltimore under the tutelage of Gustav Meier, receiving First Prize and Special Prize at the 5th Edition of the Prokofiev International Conducting Competition in St. Petersburg. Following this recognition, he was appointed assistant conductor and then associate conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic.
