Young French pianist Paul Lecocq was awarded the Clara Haskil Prize, worth CHF 25,000 and a series of concerts at the 31ᵉ Clara Haskil International Piano Competition in Vevey, Switzerland.
The two other finalists were Simon Haje (Germany) and Seungho Chung (South Korea).
Paul Lecocq entered the National Conservatory in Paris in 2022 in the class of Claire Désert and Romano Pallottini. That same year, at the age of 16, he was a semi-finalist in the Concours Long-Thibaud and a finalist in the Samson François International Piano Competition (won by Ryan Wang). In 2023, the young pianist won 3rd prize and the Press Prize at the Euregio piano awards in Germany.
