La Scala Paris

From today, Paris has a new hall: the completely renovated La Scala Paris in the 10th arrondissement is inaugurated and wants to become a creative place in the heart of the capital. Scala Paris was born from the ambition of Melanie and Frederic Biessy to design a hall open to the creators of today in all artistic disciplines. A modular room with 550 seats, La Scala Paris is equipped with state-of-the-art acoustics, and wants to bring together theatre, dance, music, new circus, visual and digital arts on the same stage.

The sound identity is signed by the composer Philippe Manoury, whose high degree of requirement has enabled him to equip it with an acoustic adapted to the requirements of today’s music.

La Scala Paris was built in 1873 by a rich Parisian lady who very much loved the Scala in Milan. In its varied history the hall hosted a café-concert, a theatre, a movie theatre, a porn cinema with a brothel and finally a place of worship for a Baptist church.
