Their 2015 Tour of Europe brings the Philadelphia Orchestra and Music Director Yannick Nézet-Séguin to audiences in 10 cities over three weeks. The tour is set to begin in Luxembourg on May 21. Other concerts will take place in Dortmund, Cologne, Dresden, Berlin, Paris, Vienna, Lyon, Amsterdam and London, where the tour will end on June 6. Pianists Emanuel Ax & Jan Lisiecki , as well as violinist Lisa Batiashvili join the Orchestra as soloists. After a first European tour in 1949 the Orchestra has crossed the globe on a regular basis. It last visited Europe in 2011.

Klassik zieht immer mehr Besucher an. Das Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich steigerte die Gesamtzahl der Besucher in Zürich um 5.752 auf 110.873. Die Auslastung wurde um 4,5 Prozent gesteigert und betrug 76 Prozent. Die Zahl der verkauften Abonnements blieb stabil. Die Jahresrechnung weist einen Ertragsüberschuss von CHF 216.432.22 auf. Die Eigenwirtschaftlichkeit liegt bei 42 Prozent, die sich aus Konzerteinnahmen, Beiträgen von Privaten sowie übrigen Erträgen zusammensetzt. Read More →
Auch in diesem Jahr verkaufen die Bayreuther Festspiele Tickets im Internet. Ein Drittel der etwa 59 000 Karten wird ab Sonntag, 1. Februar um 14.00 Uhr online erhältlich sein. Es gibt Eintrittskarten für alle Vorstellungen der Festspiele 2015.

Adam Fischer
Private donations and crowd funding were successful: the Danish National Chamber Orchestra, which was disbanded at the end of last year by the Danish Radio Corporation, has raised in a very short time enough money – more than 400.000 Euro – to bring the orchestra back on the podium. The orchestra’s chief conductor Adam Fischer will conduct the first benefit concert on 1 February. The orchestra will take a slightly shorter name: Danish Chamber Orchestra.
