The publishing house Henle announced that the first volume in the Bela Bartok Complete Critical Edition has been published! It is the pedagogical work for piano ‘For Children’ in its early and revised versions. The volume contains almost 400 pages of music with scholarly comments. Read More →

There are 21 women and 49 men, of 22 different nationalities, coming from an initial list of 202. Das Schweizer Auktionshaus Koller versteigert am 1. April ein bisher unbekannt gebliebenes Musikmanuskript des jungen Mendelssohn, sein einziges Autograph Mendelssohns zu Bachs Matthäuspassion. Nach den handschriftlichen Aufzeichnungen im Innendeckel des sich gegenwärtig in Schweizer Privatbesetz befindlichen Bandes schrieb Mendelssohn die beiden Arien und das Recitativ für Agnes Schubring auf, der Schwester seines Freundes und späteren Librettisten Julius Schubring, und zwar 1830 anlässlich eines Besuches in deren Haus in Quellendorf bei Dessau.
