The ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra (RSO Wien) has made its outgoing chief conductor Marin Alsop an honorary conductor. The musicians conferred the title on her on Monday. In doing so, they honored the US-American’s commitment to the orchestra.
The 68-year-old American conductor is in the position of Music Director since 2019 and will quit at the end of the current season. Markus Poschner will succeed her in 2026.
