Due to an hour-long power outage in the Ludwigshafen area, the Deutsche Staatsphilharmonie Rheinland-Pfalz (German State Philharmonic Orchestra of Rhineland-Palatinate) played part of their Friday concert in quasi-darkness and then had to cancel the second part. The musicians did manage to play Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto and Smetana’s Molda together in cozy twilight, the orchestra management announced today. « However, the 9th Symphony From the New World by Dvorak unfortunately had to be cancelled on Friday evening when ultimately the emergency power also failed. »
