The Finnish pianist and conductor Olli Mustonen, 52, has been named Artistic Director and Principal Conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra from January 2021. His contract is to last three years, with the option to renew for another two years. The orchestra’s Principal guest conductor is the Lithuanian violinist Julian Rachlin, whose contract will end in 2022.
Mustonen is the successor of the immense Maestro Leif Segerstam, who was Chief conductor of the Turku Philharmonic Orchestra from 2012 to May 2019.
