Novosibirsk Central District Court dismissed the lawsuit of Inessa Riabinina, which demanded from the Novosibirsk Opera and Ballet Theatre to show her the Wagner opera Tannhäuser in the original version. Inessa Ryabinin appealed to the court in order to protect the rights of the consumers. She said, she acquired a ticket for Tannhäuser, but in fact, in the Novosibirsk staging, the action and the characters that did not match with the original plot of the opera. Fortunately, the judge did not follow her arguments. The same court already dismissed a lawsuit of the Orthodox Church against the modern staging of the opera, while the Putin government was not so tolerant and fired the general manager Boris Mesdritsch following the scandal over his Tannhäuser production.
