Canadian Conductor Nicolas Ellis, 32 has been named Music Directior of the Rennes based Orchestre National de Bretagne on a mandate of 4 years. He will take up his duties from the the 2024-2025 season.
Nicolas Ellis is Artistic Director and Conductor of the Orchestre de l’Agora in Montreal, and Principal Guest Conductor of Les Violons du Roy. He also served as artistic collaborator with the Orchestre Métropolitain and Yannick Nézet-Séguin from 2018 to 2023.
He is the successor of Grant Llewellyn, who was Music Director during eight seasons.
