The new ‘Musical City’ at Ile Seguin in Boulogne-Billancourt, a Western suburb of Paris, which is supposed to become a tough competitor for the new Philharmonic Hall in the East, has been chosen as Best Project at Mipim in Cannes. The island will be equipped with a Concert hall, an auditorium, rehearsal studios and a music school.

The € 170 million project, designed by Shigeru Ban and Jean de Gastines, is planned for a grand opening in fall 2016. The wooden shell will be a new architectural landmark in this part of the surroundings of Paris.
