Jeff Van Driel has been named the new CEO of Naxos of America, the largest independent classical music distributor in the U.S. and Canada. He replaces Jim Selby, who left earlier this month to join another company. Van Driel joined Naxos six years ago as the company’s director of business and legal affairs. A year ago, he was named international head of legal affairs for Naxos Group.
“I am deeply honored to assume the position of CEO of one of North America’s most vibrant music companies,” Van Driel said in a written statement. “These are challenging times for the music industry, but with challenges come opportunity. I will ensure that Naxos continues to be an industry leader and innovator.”
Naxos founder Klaus Heymann added: “It is with complete confidence that I appoint Jeff to this key position within the Naxos family. Over his many years with Naxos, Jeff has already demonstrated the knowledge, skill and leadership necessary to lead the company.”
