Despite expenses increased from $ 21.7 million to 23,85 million, the Nashville Symphony was able to make an operating surplus of $339,000 in 2015/16. Total program revenues were up from 13.1 to 15.8. Annual fundraising increased by 10 percent, from $6.6 million in 2015 to $7.3 million this year.
The Symphony’s audit shows that 67 percent of the total revenue now came from earned income, in the form ticket sales, fees and rentals. 191,000 tickets were sold. The Symphony’s free education and community engagement programs served more than 58.000 people with more than 100.000 hours of concerts, lessons, hands-on learning opportunities and more.
So, three years after facing bankruptcy, the Nashville Symphony and Music Director Giancarlo Guerrero are definitely on a very promising way…
