Miguel Harth-Bedoya and the Norwegian Radio Orchestra invite you to a small musical journey around the world. The idea behind Journeys is to bring together differently inspired music from all continents in one album. The composers come from Europe (Cekovska, Slovakia), North America (Stafylakis, Canada), South America (Zamora, Chile; Aguila, Uruguay), Africa (Fokkens, South Africa; Mattar, Egypt), Asia (Seilova, Kazakhstan; Zhangyi, Singapore) and Oceania (Gendall, New Zealand). The pieces played were composed between 2002 and 2015.
The nine compositions, which are certainly neither fully representative of their countries of origin nor of contemporary music, have many things in common: they are evocative, dramatic, and belong to the tone poem genre.
Miguel Harth-Bedoya lets his orchestra perform powerfully and with many colors, so that an effective hour of music came together.
