Dieses Programm mit Musik vom Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts widmet der 27-jährige spanische Dirigent und Pianist Felix Ardanaz Paris, Frankreich und, vielleicht wichtiger, dem Licht (à la lumière). Sein Spiel lebt von eben jenem Licht, von einer stupenden Klarheit. Jede Effekthascherei liegt ihm fern. Mit zarten Pastelltönen malt er die Musik stimmungsvoll und unmittelbar ansprechend. So wie er die Musik verfeinert, durchleuchtet, wie er die Farben nuanciert, all das macht aus dieser CD etwas ganz Besonderes.

Ardanaz geht es tatsächlich vor allem um Licht und Rhythmus. Alles scheint sich zu bewegen, zu glitzern, mit tausend Spiegelungen zu glänzen. Alles ist luftig, federnd, von einer betörenden Reinheit.

This program with music from the beginning of the 20th century is dedicated by the 27-year-old Spanish conductor and pianist Felix Ardanaz to Paris, France and, perhaps more importantly, to light (à la lumière). His playing lives from this very light, from a stupendous clarity. He is far from any kind of showmanship. With delicate pastel tones he paints the music atmospherically, making it immediately appealing. The way he refines the music, illuminates it, the way he nuances the colors, all this makes this CD something very special.
Ardanaz is indeed concerned above all with light and rhythm. Everything seems to move, to glitter, to shine with a thousand reflections. Everything is airy, flexible and of a beguiling purity.
