Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla

Lithuanian Mirga Grazinyte-Tyla, 39, will be Principal Guest Conductor of the Radio France Philharmonic from September 2026 for a period of three years.

With this appointment, she becomes Principal Guest Conductor at the same time as Jaap van Zweden takes up his position as Music Director of the Orchestra, with Myung-Whun Chung as Honorary Music Director.

From 2011 to 2014, she worked as Kapellmeister at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg and the Bern City Theater, before being appointed Music Director of the Salzburg State Theater. Two years later, she was appointed Music Director of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra. Although she left her post in 2022, she continues her collaboration with the Orchestra as an associate artist from fall 2023.
