Metropolitan Opera New York
On 6 February 2021, as part of their 90th consecutive broadcast season, the Met is leaving the choice of which historic opera recording to feature that Saturday up to listeners. The voting process is straightforward and all the details are presented on their metopera.org/radiovote page.
The ten historic performances are listed on the page, and those operas are available for preview for free this month through the Met’s streaming service, Met Opera on Demand.
The poll closes at midnight, New York time, on 31 December. The top choice will then be prepared as part of a special Saturday Matinee programme in a worldwide broadcast.
