American Conductor Marin Alsop’s contract as Music Director of the Ravinia Festival has been extended through 2025. The festival is run by the Chicago Symphony and Alsop is widely assumed to be among the front-runners for becoming the successor of Chicago Symphony’s Music Director Riccardo Muti who concludes his contract in 2023. Alsop is Chief Conductor of the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra.
