An art quarter will be built in the centre of Siberian city of Kemerovo. Both the Mariinsky Theatre from St. Petersburg and the Moscow based Gnessin Russian Academy of Music will open branches there.
Part of the project is also a multifunctional concert hall. Construction will begin in the first quarter of 2019 and should be finished by 2021.
Under Valery Gergiev’s direction, the Mariinsky already opened branches in Northern Ossetia-Alania, in Primorye and in Vladivostok.
