The Philharmonic in Luxembourg has announced that Kit Armstrong and Renaud Capuçon will be Artist in Focus (or Artists in Residence as other institutions say) during the upcoming season 2025/26.
Pianist, organist, composer, conductor, and even mathematician, Kit Armstrong primarily defines himself as a musician. With a hint of nostalgia, he reflects: «Nowadays, we tend to treat activities as if they were completely separate».
For him, an artistic residency is «the most suitable format for expressing oneself – especially here in Luxembourg, with its wonderful orchestra, one of my favourite concert halls, and an organ that allows for such a varied repertoire ».

Renaud Capuçon returns to the Philharmonie as Artist in Focus, a role that reflects his long-standing relationship with the institution. His musical partnership with Martha Argerich, his passion for conducting, and his desire to share the stage with emerging talents like Kian Soltani (cello) and Mao Fujita (piano) all speak to his open, generous approach – one that perfectly matches the spirit of the Philharmonie.
