United Instruments of Lucilin, one of Europe’s foremost ensembles for contemporary music, announces another busy semester of activities. In August, Lucilin will be on tour in Japan with concerts in Tokyo, Nagakute and Nagano (1 – 7 August) with Martin Matalon’s musical play Tulles et son ombre as well as the programme Bach & Present.

In October, Lucilin will premiere Kein Licht, an opera by French composer Philippe Manoury on a libretto by Elfriede Jelinek. This opera or Thinkspiel, as Lucilin calls it, will be staged by Nicolas Stemann and performed at the Ruhrtriennale Duisburg (25, 26, 27 August, 01, 02, 03 September, at Musica Strasbourg (Opéra national du Rhin, 11-15 September), at the Opéra Comique in Paris (18-22 October), at the Zagreb National Theatre (7-9 November) and at the Grand Théâtre in Luxembourg (22, 23 novembre).

In-between, Lucilin will be at the Concordia Festival, Sofia, Bulgaria for a performance of Albena Petrovic’s instrumental opera The Dark (13 October).
