Leonard Slatkin, Music Director of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra (DSO), will offer monthly lessons in conducting via online videos. Leonard Slatkin’s Conducting School will cover conducting basics, including the history of the baton, how to beat time, what to do with the left hand, and more.The free monthly video series is intended for music lovers who are curious about the art of conducting. “I think this series will be educational, entertaining, fun, and instructional,” Slatkin says in a teaser video.
The video lessons will be released online at leonardslatkin.com and on Maestro Slatkin’s official YouTube channel. The first video drops this Saturday, Oct. 15
