Mariss Jansons hat Bruckners Sechste Symphonie immer wieder gerne dirigiert. Die Sechste, eine der apartesten und abstraktesten Bruckner-Symphonien überhaupt, geht er in dieser Liveaufnahme von 2015, sehr kraftvoll und rhythmisch an. Nach dem tiefschürfenden, gleichzeitig aber auch angenehm farbigen Adagio gestaltet der Dirigent das kühne Scherzo sehr verspielt, ja fast drollig, und auch das stolze und durchaus heitere Finale erlangt bei ihm eine großartige Wirkung.

Mariss Jansons has always enjoyed conducting Bruckner’s Sixth Symphony. In this live recording from 2015 the Sixth, one of the most distinctive and abstract Bruckner symphonies, is powerful and rhythmic in the first movement. After the insightful, but at the same time pleasantly colorful Adagio, the conductor shapes the bold Scherzo very playfully, almost droll, and also the proud and thoroughly cheerful finale achieves a great effect with him.
