Zu diesem Album schreibt der italienische, in Frankeich lebende Pianist Vittorio Forte: « Volver ist kein Umweg, es ist eine Rückkehr. Zu meiner kalabrischen Jugend, zu meinen argentinischen Lehrern und zu dem Gefühl, das in mir den Wunsch weckte, Musiker zu werden. Sie haben mich gelehrt, das Klavier zum Singen zu bringen. Es ist diese zutiefst menschliche Vermittlung, die im Herzen meines Spiels geblieben ist. »
Die musikalische Reise führt durch verschiedene Länder, Brasilien, Argentinien, Mexiko, Chile, Kolumbien und Cuba. Sie präsentiert Musik von bekannten und weniger bekannten Komponisten, wobei die Stücke zwischen zwei und acht Minuten dauern und von nachdenklich, elegisch, bisweilen traurig (vornehmlich in dem bewegenden Zyklus Doloras des Chilenen Alfonso Leng) bis zu leidenschaftlich und heroisch reichen.
Ob nun ruhig und kantabel oder tänzerisch beschwingt, Vittorio Forte lässt sein Klavier immer singen und verbrämt die Musik meistens mit einem Hauch von Nostalgie, das diese musikalische Reise zu einem ganz besonders schönen und berührenden Erlebnis macht.
Besonders interessant wird das Album durch die Entdeckung interessanter Stücke wie die Danzas afro-cubanas von Ernesto Lecuona oder die Quatro peças lyricas op. 13 des Brasilianers Alberto Nepomuceno.
The Italian pianist Vittorio Forte, who lives in France, writes about this album: « Volver is not a detour, it is a return. To my Calabrian youth, to my Argentinian teachers and to the feeling that awakened in me the desire to become a musician. They taught me to make the piano sing. It is this deeply human mediation that has remained at the heart of my playing. »
The musical journey leads through various countries, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia and Cuba. It presents music by well-known and lesser-known composers, with pieces lasting between two and eight minutes and ranging from pensive, elegiac, sometimes sad (especially in the moving cycle Doloras by Chilean composer Alfonso Leng) to passionate and heroic.
Whether calm and cantabile or lively and dance-like, Vittorio Forte always lets his piano sing and usually dresses up the music with a touch of nostalgia, making this musical journey a particularly beautiful and touching experience.
The album is made particularly interesting by the discovery of interesting pieces such as the Danzas afro-cubanas by Ernesto Lecuona or the Quatro peças lyricas op. 13 by the Brazilian composer Alberto Nepomuceno.
